Willeme and Beatrice's Home
Home build: Summer 2018
The Need
A safe home to protect a family from the rain
How we helped
Built a safe, sturdy home
We are constantly amazed by the generosity of the Haitian people
it’s such a privilege to be able to bless them with safe, secure homes for their families.
Willeme has faithfully volunteered with us since 2013, helping us with construction, repairs, and serving in a variety of roles.
We visited Willeme, his wife Beatrice, and their two children at their home one day, and got caught inside during a rainstorm. The house was built out of sticks that hold up scraps of metal that serve as a roof. Mud and sticks were used to make the walls with tarps covering some of the gaps. This small cramped space made it impossible to move around. Rain water ran across the dirt floor creating a river of mud.
We knew that Willeme needed a new home for his family, so Hope Rising Haiti connected with our local partners to help build him one! Willeme is grateful for his new home, and they have continued to faithfully serve on many of our local projects.
We’re so thankful for the support and prayers from people like you who make projects like this possible. Praise God for all of the incredible work He is doing among the people of Haiti!
