Duhodry Pierre, or “Sonson” to those who know him, is a faithful worker and father of two beautiful girls. Sonson is the principal driver for Global Vision Citadelle Ministries (GVCM), one of our ministry partners in Haiti. He has earned a reputation as a very loyal and trustworthy man, and has been a great help to us during our visits to Haiti. 

He and his family used to rent a very modest home and moved each year as their rental agreements came to an end. His friends and coworkers wanted to help him and show their love and respect for him, so they purchased a piece of land where Sonson and his family could build a home.  Through your prayers and donations, Hope Rising Haiti was able to help build the home along with a private latrine area for the family.

While the steep terrain challenged our construction team in many ways, our team persevered and completed the home. We’re happy to share that Sonson and his family now have a safe, sturdy home they can call their own.
