Help build a home for a family in need
Sonia Destine is a member of the GVCM church in Limbe, where she lives with her six children and six grandchildren. The whole family lives in a small, broken house that provides inadequate protection during the rainy season.
About
Sonia Destine
The roof of the house is collapsing on every side. When it rains, the family has to stand in the center of the house to avoid getting wet. Water also runs into the home from the river and the street through the doors and base of the walls, which means that they can’t keep any of their belongings on the floor. After the water comes into the home, it’s nearly impossible to get the water out – which means the home stays muddy for days.
Despite Sonia’s challenging situation, she still has deep faith that God will provide for her. “Even though I live with these problems, I never lose hope because I am sure that God sees my family’s situation,” Sonia said.
Sonia’s husband is unable to provide a safer home for the family, so she reached out to Hope Rising Haiti for help. After hearing her story, we would like to build a safe, sturdy home where her whole family could live, as well as a private latrine area.
Please pray for Sonia and her family, and consider how God might use you to meet her need for a new home!
