The Need
A safe, sturdy home
How We Helped
Built a home to shelter a family from the rainy season
About
Maude Guerrier
Maude is a faithful widow living near Mirebalais. She and her four children shared space in a tiny house, which had been constructed in typical Haitian fashion: with sticks to anchor the walls and tarps, sheet metal scraps and palm leaves completing the structure.
Their home was no match for the destructive rainy season. Storms shook the structure and turned their dirt floors to mud in no time. But as each storm passed, her faith in God grew stronger. Maude knew that He would protect her and her family somehow. When our local committee discovered her situation, she was nominated to receive a new home.
The funds were raised very quickly, and the construction of a new, safe and sturdy home was completed quickly as well.
“God is good! Praise Jesus!” she said over and over as our team visited her new home. We are grateful to have been a small part of how God is changing lives in Haiti!
God is good!
