Building Up Churches
When Hope Rising Haiti launched in 2014 one of three main strategies was to help American Churches partner with one of our 38 partner churches in Haiti. On Sunday, August 7, 2016, our friends from Cherry Hills Community Church in Highlands Ranch, Colorado helped dedicate a new church building for Sapaterre Christian Church, outside of Hinche, Haiti in the Central Plateau. The Church in Sapaterre has been meeting for over 10 years under makeshift structures made of a few sticks and leaves and more recently simple metal panels. Pastor Claude is a strong leader for the Sapaterre Christian Church and has a passion for evangelism as he preaches the Bible.
Ribbon Cutting & Dedication
Kevin Ross, Director of Missions and Outreach at Cherry Hills Community Church, and Pastor Yves Prophete, Director of GVCM – led the dedication prayer on the steps of the church, prior to cutting the ribbon and opening the doors to start the first worship service in their new church building. There was standing room only, at the dedication service on August 7th. God gets all of the credit for the growth, joy, and hope that is rising in Sapaterre, Haiti. Seeing the new water well pump water next to the church that is preaching about Jesus – the Living Water, is an incredible pictures of God’s grace and love that is available to everyone.
Seating for a Crowd
Earlier in the week the Cherry Hills team partnered with our Hope Rising team to build 30 church benches for the new church in Sapaterre. It is always an awesome experience for our teams to work along side of Haitians from the community to share skills and labor in the effort of building God’s Kingdom.
Ladies Retreat
Our teams also partnered together to host a ladies retreat for over 30 women from the community. Marci LaMunyon, with the help of our beloved interpreter, Nadege Gabriel, proclaimed the love of our Father for these precious and courageous woman.
