Rebuilding a church after a hurricane

a congregation can continue to grow and bring the love of Jesus to their community

The small satellite island off the southern coast of Haiti is the home of the Ill-A-Vache Church. The church building was completely destroyed by Hurricane Matthew on October 4, 2016. In the weeks following there was an outpouring of help and prayers. Friends and partners of Hope Rising Haiti supported the construction of a new church building bringing hope to this faithful community. Their faith, under the leadership of Pastor Monclaire Tannis and the vision of Pastor Yves Prophete of GVCM carried them through. The church continues to grow and bring the love and hope of Jesus Christ to the nearby communities.

The people here know that Christ makes all things new as witnessed in the baptismal waters of the nearby ocean. We pray that God will continue to bless this community.
