Sister Phanelie was a widow living in a small, leaky house with her six kids whom she couldn’t support when a kind-hearted man named Theo saw she needed help. He contacted Hope Rising Haiti about her situation and wasted no time getting to work on her new home.

“I lived in a little broken house with my kids and we had no hope of what we would do to get out of this situation. Then God made it for us,” Phanelie says. 

“My older daughter and I were battling during the rainy season because the roof of the little house leaked all around,” she adds. “We felt obliged to let the little kids lay in the one small dry place the house had. My daughter and I stayed standing until the rain stopped and tried other ways to sleep.”

Getting to Work
Despite the challenging conditions in Haiti, Theo and his team were able to complete the new home in June 2023. 

“Now that we have a new house, we are overjoyed,” Phanelie says. “We have more rooms and no more leaking places. I want to thank you so much for your help! My family lifts you up in prayer every day and we are thankful God has answered our prayers.”
