Rolens Salomon is a ray of hope with a bright future for the city of Thomassique and for Haiti as a nation.
We have been blessed to know the Salomon family over the years. Rolens, 22, is just one example of the hope that education brings to a people. His father, Pastor Roger Salomon, leads the Christian Church in Thomassique and you can read about his daughter Rodine here.
Hope Rising Haiti has been involved with the church and school there for many years – drilling wells, building homes, classrooms and church buildings. Pastor Roger and his family are a strong part of bringing the Gospel to this remote mountain community of over 55,000 people.
With his opportunity to attend school in Thomassique, Rolens pursued an education in medicine. His parents reached out to us for help in sponsoring his tuition expenses and we were happy to help. Rolens said that the first year of University was both challenging and rewarding. He is learning a lot and has maintained above a 70% average entering his second year of Nursing school. Rolens’ goal is to help others as he has been helped, extending the kind hand of hope that he has experienced.
We are proud of Rolens and his family and thankful for the opportunity to work with them.
Sincerely,
